Guest Cabins
There are 43 guest cabins in Maharajas’ Express and out of them 20 are deluxe, 18 are junior suites, 4 are suites and there is 1 presidential suite. This luxurious express can take up to 88 passengers at the same time for a journey. Guests can even choose the occupancy as twin or double, depending on the type of bed they wish to have. Each cabin of this royal train can accommodate 2 passengers at a time whereas the presidential suite can accommodate up to 4 passengers.
Dining
This luxurious train has 2 beautifully furnished restaurants that have the capacity to accommodate 42 passengers at a time. The beautiful restaurants of this luxurious express are named Mayur Mahal and Rang Mahal and offer a variety of cuisines from all around the world which include Chinese, Continental, traditional Indian food, and authentic Mewari cuisines.
Bar
The Maharajas’ Express also has a bar area where people can have drinks and enjoy time over a friendly talk. People can play board games, and drink their favorite wine, spirits, and beers while enjoying their free time and socializing.
Lounge, Observation Car & Treasure Chest
There is a Maharaja Club which has relaxing chairs for the guests to observe the landscape while sitting inside the train. It has a well-equipped library with hand-picked books liked by everyone. The lounge of this train also has a personal bar and souvenir shop, which makes it a perfect place to meet other travelers and socialize.
Transportation
Complimentary transportation will be available for off-the-train excursions at every destination. Guests in Deluxe Cabins and Junior Suites will be given deluxe coaches for sightseeing, whereas cars will be there for guests in Suites and Presidential suites. Complimentary kits with things like candies, bottle coolers, tissues, shoe uppers, etc. will also be inside the vehicles.
Accommodation
Pre and Post Accommodation can be given to the guests but it is not included with the charges of the train journey. It is highly recommended that one should stay in a nice hotel while enjoying this royal journey. The journey of this royal train begins from either Mumbai or Delhi. Both cities have good connectivity to other countries and people can come to these places easily. Personal Travel Insurance
Before coming, make sure that you have sufficient travel insurance. You can refer to our booking and cancellation policy in order to get more details about the same. The luxurious Maharajas’ Express is wholly insured for natural calamities or other possibilities including flood, earthquake, fire, and theft, and the insurance covers all passengers.

Smoking Policy
As per the Indian Laws, smoking is not allowed in public places. You can connect with the tour executive to get details about the same.
Child Policy
- We don't charge any fare for children below 5
- If your child is between 5 to 12 years old, then 50% of the adult fare will be charged for 1 child.
- The cabins of this train are not interconnected, except the Presidential Suite car so book accordingly when coming with children.
- All the related taxes will be charged extra.
Internet
The guests can enjoy high-speed internet on the train but signals may vary in the moving train but it improves whenever the train stops.
Extension of Journey

Inclusions
This express has four journeys and all of them include occupancy in twin or double-sharing cabins, onboard meals, wines & spirits of the in-house brand, butler service, and also guided excursions (off the train).
Exclusions
Things like Insurance, taxes, laundry, camera (video & still), telephone calls, outside alcoholic beverages, the fees of arrival and departure, personal shopping expenses, etc. are not included in the price of Maharajas' Express.
Allowed Bags
People can carry their bags as per the rules of international airlines. Maharajas’ Express has enough luggage storage and the luggage can be kept under the bed. However, it is recommended to carry Soft-topped luggage because they take less space.
Guests can store the luggage under the bed or in separate cabins, so try to carry a small lock in order to keep your belongings safe.
People can store their luggage under the twin bed and its capacity is 915mm x 690 mm x 330 mm, whereas, the area under the double bed is 1370 mm x 940 mm x 330 mm.
Special Dietary Requirements
When you book the train, kindly mention your special dietary requirement so that our onboard staff can serve you the requested food.
Porters
Maharajas’ Express provides porters at every point of embarkation and disembarkation to assist your luggage.
Butler
There will be a private butler at each guest carriage to entertain the guest 24x7.
Wheelchair Accessibility
Maharajas’ Express does not have any wheelchair accessibility. This train does not have any facility on board related to disabled passengers. It is highly recommended that the guests who are disabled should come with someone who's physically fit.
Electricity
This luxurious train offers a voltage of 110/220 on board and it also has international adaptors.
Off Train Excursions
We suggest you carry comfortable walking shoes because around 70 to 80 percent of off-train excursions require walking and inform the officials before starting the journey if you’ve any walking disabilities. The participation of the guest or group will be refused if delays are caused due to him or if he feels incapable of the excursions. In these kinds of cases, no refunds can be given for any unused part of the tour.
Guides
There will be professional English-speaking guides available for off-train excursions. If you are not comfortable in English then inform us about your requirement for language speaking guide at the time of booking.
Credit Cards
All credit and debit cards will be acceptable on board such as Master cards, Visa, and Amex. Please note that a surcharge will be applied if you make transactions through these cards.
Visa
If you’re a foreign passenger then you’re required to keep your valid travel documents and visa handy. The documents that you provide should be approved by Indian Missions abroad. If not, then the foreign nationals will be deported or they can also be deported on providing false or expired documents.
The guests who have visa that allows 180 or 90 days of stay along with multiple entries, need to maintain a gap of at least two months from the different visits. If not, then special permissions are required from the Head of Mission for the gap of less than two months in your visits.
Travel Documents
After receiving the whole amount, all your travel documents will be issued to you and every passenger will be provided with the documents with their names on them. Most probably they will be given 14 days before the departure dates and make sure to carry the documents of confirmation with you on the trip.
Clothing Tips
- For summer - If you’re coming in summer then keeping light cotton and linen clothes is recommended.
- For winter - If you’re coming in winter then keeping light-weight clothes to heavy woolens, along with shawls and cotton clothes are recommended.
- For safari rides - Try to avoid wearing bright color clothes as they can disturb the animals, instead, wear clothes with neutral colors or earthy shades.
- For Maharajas’ Express - Guests can wear smart casuals, walking shoes, or nightwear. They can dress as they want to - on board.
- Must carry essentials like sunscreens, caps or hats, and comfortable footwear.
Currency Exchange
You can contact your Guest Relation Manager to avail currency exchange facility on board.
Medical Conditions
If you have any medical conditions then inform us at the time of booking. During the safari rides, you may experience dusty surroundings and if you have dust allergies then keeping your medicines would be essential.
Bed Spread & Bath Linens
For maintaining hygiene, changing the bed and bath linens every day is necessary so kindly let the staff change them regularly.
Hot Water
If you want hot water then switch on the geysers 20 minutes before the usage.
On-board Safe
All cabins of the luxurious Maharajas’ Express have electronic safes inside them so that our guests can keep their important documents and valuables in them. We also recommend getting your important items insured as the train will not be responsible for any loss of valuables.
Hair Dryers
People can find hair dryers in every washroom of this luxurious train.
Telephones
Telephone service is also there inside Maharajas’ Express. However, additional charges would be imposed for making external calls as these are not included in the price of the journey.
Train Manager
If you have any requests, queries, or problems on board then you can connect with the train manager who will be there to assist you 24x7.
Train Placement
When the passengers deboard the train for excursions, the train moves ahead for fueling and watering, so it is advised to follow the schedules. If you like to return earlier or stay back then you can simply connect with the manager so that he can check the availability.
Expectations from Guests
We expect that the customers will adhere to the schedules because IRCTC is punctual. If a customer misses the train or any service then it will be their irresponsibility and no alternative will be provided for such cases.
If you want to skip any excursion and instead of that visit a relative or some other place then you have to inform the train manager in advance.
If any passenger or group causes inconvenience to other guests or skips the excursion without prior information then they will be asked to leave the tour.
Crew
The crew of this luxurious Maharajas’ Express is highly skilled and every member of the crew is highly qualified, well-versed, and capable of accommodating the different needs of the guests efficiently. They provide the best hospitality to the guests coming inside Maharajas’ Express.
Cell Phones
Cell phones are allowed on board and during the visit to attractions but to avoid disturbance kindly keep them on silent or vibrate mode. It may be possible that your mobile network may not remain good during the journey but it will surely remain nice when the train is not moving.
