The name of these carriages is of various precious stones such as Moti (Pearl), Heera (diamond), Neelam (Blue Sapphire), Feeroza (Turquoise), Monga (Coral), Pukhraj (Sapphire), and so on. The carriages have spacious wardrobes, climate control, luggage space, LCD television, direct dial telephone, and an attached bathroom. Fine Dining Restaurants

The luxurious Maharajas’ Express has two dining cars - The Rang Mahal (Color Palace) and Mayur Mahal (Peacock Palace). In each of them, 42 passengers can sit, and these dining cars offer the same multi-course menu with the choice of either Indian or continental cuisine, as well as a vegetarian option.

The “Rang Mahal” literally means palace of colors and the ceiling of this dining car is elegantly hand-painted fresco ceiling. The other one is “Mayur Mahal” which was named after India’s very own graceful national bird peacock and the ceiling of this dining car is composed of small mirrored tiles.

Two seating options are available - On one hand, two persons can sit together who prefer to relish a meal over a private chat. On the other hand, four people can sit together, this one is for guests who believe in socializing over a hearty conversation while enjoying the meals.

Table d'hote meals will be included in your ticket fare. Guests can enjoy pairing wine while having breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. They can choose from a wide range of wines available on board.
